Default Stereo'* locked

Alright, I unplugged my battery to clean the sidepost, and the theftlock system locked my stereo. I don't know the original owners code, and I don't want to take it to the dealership to have them unlock it. Is there a way to unlock it myself, or do I HAVE to go to a dealership?

I hate dealerships, but I guess I'll have to to go. My engine sounds great, but a 2 hour drive with no stereo sucks.

wait...there is a procedure, to get the numbers, dont go to the dealer yet.....

try one of the admins, they have the procedure, it was posted here awhile ago, but since taken off. I know that my 93 FSM says how to do it, but it is different on the newer models

I just checked my FSM for my 96 SSE. Nothing there unless you know the code...Sorry.

IIRC there is a phone number you have to call and you give them your vin number or something to that sort to get a default code or something, or a procedure to unlock it.
