Default Steering Wheel Controls

If i install a aftermarket stereo will my steering wheel controls still work. I've seen some nice systems out there and i can't see ppl giving up the controls. Any ideas on the best aftermarket stereo to get? I'm leaning towards a MP3 stereo.

Type a search for "steering wheel controls" and you'll find all kinds of past threads on this very topic. The short version is, you can buy a steering control adapter and link in your aftermarket head unit, IF it comes with an IR remote. I've decided to stick with a factory replacement to avoid the hassle, but I'm sure some others can suggest some quality aftermarket replacements. Good luck!
