This question may already have been asked more than once in parts of many threads, but I searched the forum and couldn't find the info I'm looking for, so here goes...
I recently bought 2 new head units for my bonnies, and I want to replace all speakers in my '93 SSEi and my '92 SSE */c.
I've read that the front doors have 5 1/4" speakers and the rear deck has 6" x 9" speakers.

To optimize sound quality, my personal preference would be to install 6 1/2" speakers (perhaps separates) in the front doors, and either 6" x 9" 3-ways or maybe 6 1/2" separates in the rear deck. If using separates in the rear deck, I imagine I'd need to make or buy proper mounting materials, but I'm not worried about that.

I'd appreciate comments from those of you who have replaced the front door speakers with something other than 5 1/2" speakers, what you chose, and how it installed and sounds.

I'd also appreciate comments from those of you who have replaced the rear deck speakers, what you chose, and how it installed and sounds.
Thanks!

...and if anyone knows the maximum mounting depth for the front door speakers, that'd be great. I would have edited this post, but I haven't posted here in a while and I don't see an option that allows post editing... Hehe, Administration magic. Wanna see me pull a single post outa ny hat. Poof! gxpvenom But I have no idea of the minumum.
