What exactly do i need to put a head unit in my 2002 bonneville?
im sure its on here somewhere but can some one just give me an easy list of parts i would need to put an aftermarket head unit in my car? i would want to retain door chimes if possible, and steering wheel controls if possible. and also continue to use the factory amp. all i want is a head unit so i can hook up my ipod directly and stuff.
any help is appreciated.

also if anyone has pictures of thier aftermarket head units can you post them up so i can see what the dash kits look like? and if i get a double din radio will i need any modification for it to fit?
you need a gm wiring harness and a mounting bracket for the head unit to have a place to sit in. itll cost like 15 bucks altogether. i have a picture of my jensen flip out and my old kenwood deck in my 97 if you wanna see it just pm me
The gm interface module costs less than 100 depending on where you get it and what type you get. They make a metra harness and maybe a schoshe. And if you want, the steering wheel control and also the dash kit and gm wiring harness. Its tough to put in, but its well worth it
so where is the best place to get the dash kit, harness, (i want to retain the chimes) and what all is involved in doing the install? i used to do car audio for a living but got out of it in late 99 and cars were much simpler back then. LOL
yes the 02 is totally 100% different than yours. its a double din radio, it has a bose system that onstar and door chime run through, i know i need a special $100 harness but i cant find the right one. and also the steering wheel controle module. does anyone have part numbers for these?

The wire overview is here http://www.pac-audio.com/instructions/c2r-gm32r.pdf
I have yet to try it but, I have found review after review on this product doing the job. Take note Crutchfield sells PAC products, but won't carry this due to safety concerns. I brought up Crutchfield because of their reputation on carrying quality products.
