Default Removing Stock Stereo

How do I remove my stock stereo without activating the theft lock mechanism? I am trying to replace my 98 ssei cd with a 92 cassette so that I can use my iPod with the tape adapter.

well, the 92 and 98 radios are different first off. While it should physically fit and connect, you'll lose the steering wheel controls as the 92/93 had a separate plug for that, and the 94+ was included on the one connector. THe radios changed in 94, and is probably what you'll want.

As for not setting the theft loc, I have removed several from cars and have not set one off yet. All of them worked fine when testing them with my SSEi.
