first things first....

the new headunit has to have a Remote
you will need a PAC SWI-X interface
you have to disable the amp of you have a SSE or SSEi
and if you have a 92-93 you loose the dimming feature on the ECC

Not quite so -I had a Clarion deck in my SSE and a Pioneer in my SSEi, and never disabled the amp. I did splice the power wire to the amp (from the radio) into the power wire into the radio. Worked nicely, and very loud in my SSE with the Infinity 6953i'* in the rear and Alpine Type *'* in the front doors.

The power wire from the radio to the amp is on a plug all alone (unless you have a factory cd changer) in the 1997-1999 with BOSE audio.

ok should have clarified, you need to splice into the amp wiring so it knows when to turn and such, most places that you take the car to.....if you dont install it yourself will not hook up the amp

I was talking to my local radio guy. He was wondering where you get a primary for the speakers because of the gain control and the split on the door wiring.

How can we put in a new head unit and not have to run all new wires on my 95SSEi. My cd is bugging me and I'd love to mp3 it.
