Question about my extended range speakers in my 1995 SLE - GM Forum - Buick, Cadillac, Chev, Olds, GMC & Pontiac chat

Audio (and aftermarket electronics) This is your place for alarms, remote starters, to brag about your system, exaggerate your db levels, or simply ask questions for stock or aftermarket audio. No Flames! (except from roasted amps)

Can the HU handle 4 ohm 6x9s in the back?

yes i HAVE NFC why they did this.....its would be fine to swap in new speakers and use the stock HU, just like its fine to get a new HU and use the same sepakers...it works either way

high ohm ratings normally relate to better SQ and less output. They were probably trying to make the system sound better and not be overwhelming with bass
