Question about my extended range speakers in my 1995 SLE
 
Well I looked all thw specs on my car and found out i have extended range speakers was wondering what kind of speakers they were and how many ohms they are my friend with his 1999 gtp says that the speakers i have in there sound beter than his car that he spent $200 on 6x9's (eclipse).

they are delco speakers with a 5.25 and a tweeter in the front running at 4ohms and the rear are Delco 6x9's running at 10 ohms

its not the speakers that make the sound so good....its the HU ;)

Can the HU handle 4 ohm 6x9s in the back?

yes i HAVE NFC why they did this.....its would be fine to swap in new speakers and use the stock HU, just like its fine to get a new HU and use the same sepakers...it works either way

high ohm ratings normally relate to better SQ and less output. They were probably trying to make the system sound better and not be overwhelming with bass

that, or they were trying to put less 'stress' on the factory head's internal amp.
