Default Please help me figure out where to hook up line out converter....

the car is a 2002 SSEI with monsoon

all i wanna do is add a 4 channel amp to run 2 new 6x9s (in full range) and a sub woofer. the amp has all the xovers so i want to know what i can hook up the line out converter to to get a full range input.
i tried using the 6x9s old wires, but i think that channel on my monsoon amp is bad becasue its just distortion, was just distortion with the stock speakers too, thats why i got new speakers, i thought the speakers were blown. and i think that its already crossed over anyway to only let low freq. thru.

what if i was able to hook the line out converter to the front door speaker leads, does anyone know what wires coming out of the monsoon amp are for the front door speakers? thise are the only ones that i think are getting a mostly full range signal.

i know the output on the amp is the blue harness, and there are a lot of wires in the harness. does anyone know what color wires are the left and right lower front door speakers??

any help is appreciated, thanks.

I'm having a brain fart here, hopefully someone else will pipe in. You cant hook the speakers wires directly into the amp. You need a ???(cant think of name) in between the speaker leads and the amp. Doing it without it will at the least give you crappy sound. if the volume is turned up on the Monsoon, or used for an extended period of time will fry the new amp and might blow the Monsoon as well.

the line out converter hooks to the speaker wires then converts it to a low level output which you hook rca cable to, that go to the amp.
What I need to know is, what wires on the monsoon amps output harness are the front door 6.5 speakers. Those are the lines I want to hook the line out converters too.

tap the signal before the amp as i'm almost 100% sure the amp xover not the HU. so by tapping before the amp you should get a full range signal and also not a signal that has been amplified by the amp which you don't want at all. just adjust the pots accordingly and you should be fine. Make sure the patch cords supplying the musical signal to the amplifier are kept well away from potential sources of noise, such as brake light wires or rear window defroster wires etc.

also you don't want to run the 6x9s in full range you should cut them off around 80 or so depending on the amp and alot of other things but 80 or 100 would be a good place to start!

a line output converter should be fine and will give you RCA outputs which you can then connect to your amps RCA inputs. you use the pots to adjust the signal etc.

google: loc or line output converter im sure there are p[plenty of write ups.

I have line out converters. What color wires would I hook them too? I can't find any info on this anywhere, I don't know what wires are for what. There is two harnesses back there plugged into the amp.

hmmm well for the time being i'd just hook them up to your speaker terminals on your rear speakers. you know just to get it working. the instructions with the LOC should be sufficient for that install i would think.

but like i said in the first post, the rear channel on the amp is bad. so hooking up the LOC to the 6x9s speaker wires just causes distortion and buzzing. all i need is to know what color the speaker wires are on the front 6.5 inch door speakers. i soppose if i dont find out by tomorrow ill just have to take the door panels off and look at the speakers.
