I thought about getting that one, but with installation it would have been around $2000 total. That just seemed too much. I went with a Pioneer DEH-P480MP instead, and just didn't go with any navigation system at all. No regrets.

these things are super easy to install, its pretty much just like a regular cd deck. Pioneer has some good stuff. Personally I never use the remotes anyways so I would say go for it if you can get it discounted (plus you can always order a remote later for like $15)

I have the older version of this, the N1 in my Mercedes. I haven't upgraded yet due to the newer safety features which blocks out the user from adding a new address while driving, or watching DVDs while driving.

That being said, Pioneer, IMO, makes the best navigation systems on the market. The Z1 is beyond anything else available.

The main issue with these pop-out units (N3 vs Z1) is that the motor for the screen usually goes bad around a year if you have it set to go in and out everytime you shut the car. Either get an extended warranty or don't have it set to go in and out everytime.

my old roommate had two N2'* in his truck. It was very easy to install and very nice to use. You could bypass the safety features on the N2 by jumping two circuits and grounding the parking break which was nice.

They are also very easy to uninstall. His was uninstalled twice by theif'* in the middle of the night.

N3 looks nice and very similar to the N2.

i believe the N3 has a GPS safety that if you are moving you can not change it
