Pioneer Deck Installation - GM Forum - Buick, Cadillac, Chev, Olds, GMC & Pontiac chat

Audio (and aftermarket electronics) This is your place for alarms, remote starters, to brag about your system, exaggerate your db levels, or simply ask questions for stock or aftermarket audio. No Flames! (except from roasted amps)

How are you installing the deck? are you using a wiring adaptor? if so then you should just have to match up the colours. unless the original car wiring is screwed up. What kind of audio system does the car have stock? There are some variations.

I get the distinct feeling that he may have already started cutting up his vehicle harness.

Me too...and that'* going to make it about 100 times tougher..

Two ways I can see to solve the problem:
1. Go to the parts store and write down the information on the card in the harness for your car. Wire colors are all the same. As well look at the colors and location of their wires.

2. PM one of the people with your year FSM in the sticky at the top of the 92-99 section for assistance. This option may take longer.

Being a 93 and having bought the harness, I'd guess your gain slider in now inoperable?

You mention adding an amp and I bet you aren't concerned with the gain slider..but if you are:
You need to add a wire to your harness off your amp power on lead to power the gain slider.
