Are you still using the factory gain/amp or did you bypass it? Keep in mind the factory 6x9'* if it has that gain/amp thingy are dual voice coil. One coil connects directly to the head unit, the other directly to the gain module. If both sets of wires are joined together, you will get unwanted feedback and lots of sound degradation.

I do indeed have the factory amp/gain... my bro had same speakers same set up and they sound 20x better than mine do went to ...best buy told me to run wires from the deck but im not familiar with adding things into the harness or connect speakers wire on the deck in general.

Well my bro used the connecters from the old amp, and connected it that way to the new speakers... how is it possible to fix the poor quality sound...

That'* got the color codes for the wires you need to use. Double check your connections at the speakers. Also, keep in mind that the gain control only works for the rears, the fronts are driven purely from the deck.

you do not need to run wires from the deck, as far as i'm concerned

if you want to add aftermarket 6x9'*, go to bestbuy or circuitcity or crutchfield and get the speaker adapters for pontiac bonneville....then in the back, unhook the connector from your tweeter and hook it into your adapter, then plug those wires into your aftermarket 6x9

The tweeter'* and the amp are only in the SSEi'* though? So that is not a problem for SE'* and SSE'*? The place to mount it should work as well as the wires, or at least that is what I thought.

im not sure if the se'* or sse'* had the delco amped system

but if you dont have the gain button, you just have 6x9'* in the back, so it would not be a problem, just still use speaker adapters

when i do my speaker install sometime soon, i plan to install aftermarket speakers and still use the factory tweeters

This system was also used on SSE'*..SE'* and SLE'* generally didn't get this option. Yes, the tweeters (even the door tweets) carry full-range, but is filtered by a cap on the tweet itself. The best solution to everything, however, is to run all new cable. Makes it so much easier when it comes time to amplify everything
