Default OEM Radio LED Display Out

A wave of bad karma hit me this weekend and the LED display (clock, station, etc.) for my radio disappeared. The radio/CD player has a mfg date of Aug 97, so I assume it’* for a ’98 Pontiac. Has anyone ever repaired one of these displays?

It’* not a power problem, because the original '93 unit displays fine, and everything else on the “new” radio works. Display on the new unit was a bit flakey to begin with, but now it’* gone completely. By flakey I mean when I first installed it, the display sorta like, needed to "warm up", then it worked fine. I pulled it out while troubleshooting my power antenna problem, and now the display is gone. I've only had this unit in for a week or two and I've rather liked it. I'd like to see what station I'm on, though!

do a search, the bulb problem is fairly common problem. You should be able to see the display if you can get it into the correct sunlight.

a site that has bulbs, not sure if they are the right ones, I have never ordered them...even though my stock HU display is out.

So the clock is illuminated by a backlight? You're right, if I shined my light on it just right, I could actually read the clock.
