Default New subs and new stereo?

I just bought a 01 SSEi with the Bose system, cd/cassette and also an added 10 cd changer. Like someone said earlier, the more volume you have, the more the bass falttens out. Thats why I would like to get a sub/*. Would I have to get a new stereo to run these or can I use the existing stereo? I'm a newbie, so take it easy on me. Also, what subs would you recommend? Amp?

technically no you don't need to get a new stereo, you can run the subs with a high out put off the rear speakers. But for better sound and quality a new stereo with sub output is better.

Yeah, I just wired in my subs of my rears with a line out converter like 6 months ago. Now I own an Eclipse head unit. BIIIIIGGGG difference! If you want som e subs that are affordable go with kicker comps vr'*. You can get them dirt cheap online and sometimes on sounddomain they are buy one get one free

Another great place to check is Crutchfield. The have good sales and most of the time free shipping. Kicker CompVR'* are good subs, but, I feel their are better ones out there for the money.

If you are looking to stay in a budget, look for subs with a good SPL rating.
For example Sub A has a 90db rating and Sub B has 93db rating. Sub B will typically place twice as loud as Sub A given the same amount of wattage.

Also look for a good 4 channel amp, you can practically run an entire system off of one amp.

Most important shop around, and do your homework.

I did some research for you today and wanted to tell you that I think that you should get these and don't listen to what anyone else says I know that they can perform! I have two 15'* in my car right now.

if you get a mono block amp, get the two ohm and if you get a 4 channel, get the dual 4 ohm ones
