Why didn't you go with a double-din unit? I'm just not a huge fan of the dash kits.. :?

HU is a Pioneer DEH-P5900ib
The reason I din't get the double DIN is I'm not totally sure I could fit it without reshaping the dash opening, and I'm not doing that for anything less than a touch-screen NAV(which I don't need) or a DVD player(Which I don't need, and can't afford).
Most of the double DIN stuff I've seen on the market is low end when compared to single DIN units of the same price, and they're also usally pretty garish. I'd rather spend for features than for the extra size and glitz.
Besides, I'm a Pioneer guy, and this unit had EXACTLY the features I wanted. The only thing that bugs me is the adaptor plate. It'* pretty cheesy, and I'm on the lookout for one that is specific to the GM opening, rather than a double DIN universal like this one. I may even end up making one custom, with a flap to hide the cubby.

Oh, forgot to mention, there is also a 6disc CD changer in the trunk.
I have the iPod specific cable in the dash, but I can get a USB input if I want, or even go for a Bluetooth connection, to use it as a hands-free for the phone. But again, finances prohibit, and it'* not something I need...

And yes, the speaker outputs are 22W/RMS, pre amps are 4V, I believe, and the door/dash speakers are stock. I had the 9 speaker Concert Sound III system, which is basically the Monsoon with no sub and a different rear amp(Which is connected and works great with help from the wonderful tech guys at Crutchfield, I recommend them to anyone, they know their sh*t). The speakers are the same, and they handle plenty of power and sound damn good. Even the dash-center imaging speaker works perfectly.
The dingers and beepers and all that rot work. It appears that the wheel-control beeper is in the ECC unit, so it still beeps when using the wheel controls, but not when using the HU-front controls or wireless remote.

The buttons on the right side of the ECC are still accessible, as is the heated seat control behind the XM unit.

BTW, the reasoning behind the dock-unit, rather than an in-dash, is that it makes the transition from the PA, to my semi, to home, with one account.

I don't remember the models/specs on the subs or amp, but I can take a look later. Amp is Infinity, subs are older Pioneers. Not extraordinarily powerful, but they're plenty for me, and the sound quality is very good.

That is the same head unit! 1337ssei put a 450W amp (same as mine) to run 50W RMS per speaker in the back for two Cerwin Vega speakers, and they sound great. However, the head unit is so good that the front speakers, not amped, sound almost the same (aside from some bass discrepancies and not as much clarities in the high range) as the amped speakers. It may also have to do with the fact that they were given to him for free.

You have an awesome sound setup. I'm glad all your controls work, and I hope you enjoy years of high quality audio with your car. If we're ever together at a meet, we should have a sound-off.

Keep in mind that every model in Pioneers line uses a 22w RMS mosfet amp

Wow, you're right. I didn't actually check the model number. Here'* a link 1337ssei sent me:

They seem very similar. Does your head unit have a motorized face plate?
