Default New HU...

Had a b*tch of a time installing the damn thing, but I finally conquered the last issues this afternoon.

Pioneer DEH-P5900ib
iPod controller with 30G iPod
XM SkyFi2 into the rear auxiliary input

Had to get Petraman'* help programming the wheel control interface box, then couldn't get the damn thing to fit in because of all the new wiring. Did some work with a Dremel this afternoon, cut away the back of the radio bucket and finally convinced everything to fit. his is the LAST HU that is going in this car...
Once I got all the setting back where I wanted them, it worked great. Wheel controls even control skip function on the iPod, and the scan button switches between inputs.

!!!WARNING!!! The sound sucks on the vid. I kind of overloaded my phone'* mic on the video... :?

The box is facing the side for a reason. It seems to work a lot better that way. Don't ask me why...

Glad you got it working, Brian. That dash really sucked to work with. I asked some of my installer friends (only one of which has ever worked on a PA, lmao), and they said they'd just cut as much as they could off without damaging the structural integrity of the dash. BTW, you didn't mention the reason we were playing 20 questions all the way down to Granville

<---jealous.
Looks. Good. Sucks you had to go through that much effort, but it is to satisfying to get it done.

I really need to clean up the XM unit, though. It'* two year'* old and heavily used...I think the gunge is a permanent structural part now...

You need to clean your back floor also.

The setup looks great though.

I thought about it, but I like it better this way. It tucks neatly into the cubby under the radio, which I never use for anything else anyway...

Wow, which Pioneer is that? I think 1337ssei has the same one! If it'* the 22W RMS/channel one, that'* most likely it. I love the USB function! Nice sub box, too. I love Infinity amps. Man, I just can't stop complimenting this.

I seem to have missed most of your audio threads. Are you running aftermarket rear/front speakers as well?
