i just want to beef up my system a little bit...i was thinking just new speakers for now...no subs and stuff, actually i was thinking just get some new 6x9s...i figure theyll add quite a bit of bass...but i dont really know what to get, i want the best bang for my buck of course....
and is there anything special ill have to do if i buy new 6x9s? or is it just unplug the connector from the old ones, take them out, put in new ones, plug the connector in?
im a complete audio newb in case you cant tell.

Most aftermarket 6x9'* need power to produce goodbass. An aftermarket HU atleast, if not a seperate amp. They take much more power then stock speakers, so making the same noise takes more power.
You sound like you want more punch and kick, what'* your budget?

well i already have an aftermarket HU, its supposed to be 200w 50x4....but i know its not the greatest in the world....
i would like a little punch yes, but mostly i would like more clarity and quality than anything...i dont have to have a trunk full of subs shaking the neighborhood...as of now i believe my stock rear speakers are going out...they crackle alot sometimes...i pulled my HU out and checked all the wiring....it was fine, then i check the wiring at the speakers...unless somewhere in between its messed up, i think my speaks have seen better days....
as for my budget...its low at best....i was looking at some Lightning Audio 6x9s last night that were just under 50 bucks a piece, and a reviewer said he got them for 35 at Wal-Mart....something like that would definetely fit my budget..i know its hard to get good stuff for cheap, but thats why i said i wanted bang for my buck

50x4 is a maximum output, you will never see that kind of power from a headunit (besides those badass alpine decks)
buy a simple 2-way 6x9" set. anything 3-way or 4-way is totally a marketing gimmick
you will be happy with whatever brand you go with, cheap coaxials are all pretty much the same

you would have to get somekind of connector bacause the wiring pulgs into the into the 6x9 with out any pigtail. IF you can find anyone who as replaced there tweeters you an get a pigtain from the tweets and use the factory connectors
