Default Need to know about speakers

Can a surround sound system be added to a car? I saw a piece on the net that said this was the only thing that was needed, for lik 30$.

WHat is a component set, and is it any good to have with a stock setup?

Can the front stock speakers with tweeters handle an Amp connected to them? Would it even sound better or just ruffled?

the car interior is not best soundsatge, but there are headunits that have time controled sensors in them that will delay the time that the music comees out of the speakers.

Component sets hae 2 speakers, one Midbass driver and an tweeter, with a crossover. the crossover goes inbetween the speaker wiring and the speakers. the crossover sends the higher frequencys to hte tweet and the lower to the midbass. keep in mind that the component sets are not intended to play deep bass. the tweets take care of the higs and mid bass for the mids, and then the 6x9'* (if not subs) or subs for the low stuff

I would not recommend a amp on the factory tweets

i blew mine, granted that they sound really good for a while, but they are not desinged to handle that much power

1993, how much power were you pushing to the stock components? Mine sound pretty good with 26 watts rms from the HU.

I agree, the factory components sounds good with not very much amplification. Mine are getting 22 watts RMS from my pioneer, and the speakers run out of breath way before the amp does. As far as the surround sound, crutchfield sells an add-on center channel here'* the link: http://www.crutchfield.com/*-9vtueAj...h=Clarion+SRK5. To get real surround, you are also going to have to get a head unit that plays DVD'* and supports surround, and has an external dolby encoder. Like this: http://www.crutchfield.com/*-HlkUigO...0&I=113DDX7015 This unit, like most, is surround READY, but still needs an external surround decoder, like this:http://www.goodguys.com/adtemplate.a...0&catky=207135. So you see it'* going to take a bit more than 30 dollars to get REAL surround, but it is possible.

Wow thats a huge internal amp. I thought my V-drive on my Alpine was huge. i take it you have to wire the power wire from the HU directly to the battery right?
