The higher output alternator, I can see.

My 2 cents.

The Infinity speakers are good. I'm running some 6x9'* in mine on 90w each, and they are great. As for the subs, they are also great. However, I personally wouldn't run them in a bandpass enclosure. They are better suited for a sealed box. What kind of music are you listening to?

As for the current draw, you'd be looking at around 122A running with music. The alternator is worth it.

I can't speak for the 6x9'*, however, I do have an Infinity 124.7 DVC. I love it it has good output, and a high db rating so it will play louder, with a given wattage, than other subs. It handles bass notes well, as well as power.

I also would recommend against the bandpass box. I had my 12 in a 1.25 sealed box, and it sounded good. I built a 1.0 sealed box and it sounded even better. You won't be disappointed.

the woofers I have are the KAPPA PERFECT 12DVQ
found here http://www.infinitysystems.com/car/p...=US&Region=USA
hope this clears up the confusion on woofer type
also I will probably build a ported box
btw I listen to bit of everything
usually goes like this though
metal in morning
Rock in the afternoon
swing/jazz/hip-hop in evening on the way home from work

I am going to throw this out on second battery, I have 2 caps,1.5 cap and a .5 cap. Both have voltage display on them,. I am running a high power class d amp(check sig) and even at 120 db what hit last month my volts were around 13.67- most of the time, is battery for over kill or why?

Have more than one battery does little unless you are entering spl competitions (where many do not allow you to run your engine in competition, thus you need as much current as possible from batteries alone) Otherwise, better alternators and bigger cables are best for real world use.

As for the DVQ'*, they should take a ported box fine- at least they have the adjustable Q pole inserts to "fine tune" the speaker'* Q for different enclosures.

@mike yes the second battery is for over kill as my car will often sound like my own personal spl competition any way.
@ sadness for the support on the ported box
so far these are box size spec so far based on tuning @ 25hz
1.92 feet by 3.03 feet by 1.18 feet
with a square vent 2 inches by 12 inches by 11.77 inches
for a total volume of excluding the space inside the port 6.7 cubic feet
btw I will be running 200amp alt if at all possible on 2/0 cable with an 8 farad cap.
