I want more sound in a pretty decent already sound system for the beast.
I would rather see if anyone has specific depth mounts of the back doors before i take the panel off myself cause that sucks..
Possibly puttin 6 1/2" in the doors or more 4x6" or 5 1/4" whatever
but let me know if people have done it b4 or what their outlook is on it.

im currently working on using parts from the front doors and adapting them to the rear, for speakers

i would never worry about rear speakerxs unless you care what your passengers hear, I aswell as many other Audio enthusiats am running just fron tdoor components and subs, no speakers at all in the rear besides the woofers

well the other thing i was thinkin is more speakers for the front.. but i wouldnt know where the hell to put them. obviously i'd rather have them in the front for my liking but unless anyone has any schemous ideas..

why are you thinking of putting rear speakers in the doors over the rear deck??

The whole sound stage will be off. In a properly set up car, the sound will sound like the stage is sitting on the dashboard. By putting speakers in the rear doors you are moving the sound stage even father back than it would be already.

Front speakers are the most important speakers in a system. If you really want to wow backseat passengers, setup some components at the bottom of the pillar, near the tensioner for the seat belt, in some kick panels.

If you're looking to upgrade with your setup, i'd go find some matching door panels that have component speaker mounts instead of the 4x6. Get new components for the front (maybe alpine to match the existing speakers) and run a 4 way amp for your speakers. Putting more speakers in the car is only going to make it harder to get them voice matched, and create more points of audio. The idea in audio isn't to use as much as possible, infact the best sound can come from 1 pair of speakers.

Other upgrades would be the subwoofer, and/or sub amp.

Not trying to offend just want to give you my opinion based on my recent expierence. I would get some clean powered amps first. There is nothing that will such an improvement than having clean watts running your speakers. I just found this out myself. I installed my wifes system (check my sig) and I thought it sounds good. I then installed my system and found that a good quality (even if its old) amp can make a world of difference on the sound. I am running a 6 channel Zapco that runs my complete system, and I feel it'* the best system of mine I have had ever (I have had a lot of systems). I have massive clean power that pounds everything nice, loud, and clear. My wifes system just dosen't sound nearly as good due to the fact that hers is running a cheap 4 channel Sony amp. the Sony sounds good but not nearly as crystal clear as my Zapco. If you would like to improve I would suggest an amp replacement. I am not very famillar with Rockford as I never liked them (no offense to anyone), but I feel that the dual is probabally not putting out very clean power. I would start there. Someone correct me if I am wrong.
