The actual faceplate or bezel? I wasn't able to use the bezel for the radio as it was a "snug" fit.

Exactly. Take the bezel off, and try the faceplate without it. You don't need the bezel with the HUmount.

Look at my install for reference. Almost the same JVC HU, too.

sorry, clarification please..

I have the deck. the aluminum sleeve (rectangular shape) a plastic trim piece and the removeable face . which one are you referring to as the bezel.

i slid the deck in the aluminum sleeve, then put the whole thing in the white hu mount.
bent the tabs on the aluminum sleeve which hold the deck in the white plastic hu mount.
this all fits. the thin plastic trim piece used to cover any aluminum showing from the sleeve is not being used. face plate snaps on .. but as you can see there are gaps on either side and the hole that is cut out in the face plate is not big enough .. height wise.
removeable face (deck) does snap on but its tight , very tight and doesn't look right.

Take some better pics, and I'll do the same.

I'll have some up in an hour or two. Faceplate off and on (the black trim ring is the bezel we were talking about, so I'm glad you have that off).

I had a problem when I got the same mount. This guy makes them SOOOO tight and exact that some people will have issues with certain HUs. The way my Eclipse HU faceplate opened was a problem, and I had to MacGyver a way to adjust it so the faceplate would open.

Overall I loved the mount, but it isn't 100%, completely universal.

more pics.

you can see in the third one the deck is actually wider and shorter.
the faceplate is not as wide as the deck and its taller.

I can see that opening in the metal faceplate for the actual mount is smaller than the radio'* detachable faceplate. So with the metal faceplate (SSEi faceplate) screwed on the white mount, the radio'* faceplate will not connect to the radio?

Unrelated:
That mount is also different from mine...I had an opening in top where the mini lamps should be with a red piece of plastic covering it.
