They are not hot, simply a used set. This particular friend of mine knows nothing about subs, and just wanted to get rid of them. She wanted to give me them, but I would not accept such an expensive gift. 50 bucks took it.

Only other problem I have encountered is that I do not know what kind of speakers they are. What amp should I power them with? If I post a pic, will someone possibly know?
A friend of mine manages a car stereo shop where the sell eclipse head unit and component speakers, if you get a model # I can ask and he should be able to tell us what you need to push em.
I bought all Eclipse speakers and amps for my wife'* `88 Grand Prix. I needed "American" drilled front dash coaxials, and the top of the line Eclipse 3-way 6x9'* in back. Powered with Eclipse amps after amps by Coustic failed. The head unit was a Pioneer cassette unit with a Pioneer Premiere CD changer.
We sold that car in April and replaced it with a 2001 Grand Prix GT with the Bose factory system, and all I can say is that the aftermarket Pioneer with Eclipse speakers and amps blows away the stock Bose.
Some day I'll go aftermarket with her GT, and I'd definitely go Eclipse again.
Incidentally, Eclipse is a division of Fujitsu-Ten, and is unrelated to Klipsch, who doesn't make any automotive products at all.
