How to add Class II data radio to older car.

As I wrote also, this specific Cobalt HU, the radio works, the CD player doesnt, so this HU was an option to be mounted to my bench, with a Cobalt bcm, powered by a 12v bench supply.. Doing it that way, yeah, the bcm/radio would have to be burned for a specific vin (I'd have both, the radio'* vin, and the vin off the junkers bcm).
My background info.. I'm an Extra Class Amateur Radio operator, I built a lot of ham radio gear, both component and digital, over the last 35+ yrs, so doing this isnt really an unknown, it'd just be my first time matting a non-Class2 chassis, with a Class2 component. The oem data bus would still be intact, as far as I can tell now.
