Yes, if you keep playing it that loud -I can hear you all the way up I-94 in Sauk Centre. 
Yes, if you have the heat on or the cabin temp is very warm and you have the radio really working it will get hot. I had the same experience with my old Clarion CD players -I literally had to wait 30 seconds to remove a cd after it was ejected because it was so hot to the touch.
The faceplate was crazy insane hot too. Now with the Pioneer DEH-P4400DH it gets warm, but not hot.

I'll just let my CD "cool" before I touch it!
I am going to have to spend money on upgrading the stereo.....AFTER window tinting is marked off the list.
