Default Help on speaker choice, and hookup question...

hey y'all! my monsoon speakers are blown(big suprise, papercone POS'* ) and i am getting my shopping list together now to replace the speakers/headunit and probly put in an amp(*) for the speakers, then a dedicated amp and subs later on. I have listened to and had good feedback on kicker and JL subs, so ill probly be getting one of those two brands. I would like to keep the speakers the same brand if i can. anybody have opinions on their coax speakers and components? also, I wanted to know if there is a way to wire the headunit to the steering wheel controls. if it matters, i dont know what head unit i will get yet. I was looking at getting a sony(with flash drive reader) or maybe a pioneer bluetooth headunit(depends on if i get a newer phone :P )
Thanks

Personally, I would go with the JL'* for the sub. IMO they are the best by far, but I have heard and liked many Kickers too.
As far as head units, I do believe many on hear have been able to keep the steering wheel controls, I believe there is an adapter you can purchase. Someone with more knowledge should chime in soon and confirm that.
Personally, i prefer. I like the features (especially the eq / sound control) you get for your dollar.
I don't know if it is necessary to match the speakers to the subs, but I am pretty sure you'd be happy with JLs for your mids and highs too. The best shop in my town uses JL subs with Boston Acoustic speakers, and I love the sound.
