Are you talking about a Bonneville or a Suburban?
It sounds like he is talking about aftermarket radio or wire harness colors. They have been standardized for some time now. Pioneer was one of the last ones to conform though so if it'* an older one, it might be different.

Check for the blue ones first. If you strike out there, does the 'Burban have a yellow wire? If so, check it with a test light or volt meter and see if it is hot in ACC and ON positions.

Alright, I'll check that out later. The MSU game is coming on too soon.

aftermarket radio
yellow is a constant power source
red is a switched power source which actually turns on you radio when you turn the key (this would be your best bet to connect the remote wire to)

Go to an electronic store, buy a switch, some wire, wire it to the positive on the battery, to the switch, from the switch to the amp and voila your set. Your own custom switched amp turn on lead..

*****IT IS THE BLUE WIRE WITH A WHITE STRIPE IN IT*****
you need to run the wire from the amp and twist it together with that blue and white wire.
