I need to get a 2 AWG wire through the firewall. It must run down the passenger side of the car I have used the search and have looked that people have did:

gone through the grommet on the drivers side (cant do that)
have gone through the accordian tube on the passenger door (dont really want to do that)

and have went through the firewall right behind the glove box (where??)
There are 2 wire harnesses on the passenger side

people have said that they went through the Airbag sensor location on the firewall ( where is this?)

what have people done

Going to the trunk? Don't enter the firewall. Go down the firewall and along the inside edge of the passenger'* frame rail, then enter the trunk. Just support and loom it well, and you'll be ok. I ran my water/methanol injection in the same manner, only I ran down the other side, and attached it all the way along my brake lines.

That is exactly what I did on my Trans Sport with 4 gauge. It works really well and I have never had any problems with it. What is up with everyone trying to run power wire through factory grommets? Esp. the one on the drivers side? I think that looks like *** when you have to run the wire over the strut bar and over to the drivers side. If you really want to enter the cab through the firewall why dont you just drill a hole where you want it to enter and buy a grommet.

The one on the Passenger'* side firewall.. is the one for the ECU.. there isn't any room on mine. It'* under this cover on the firewall.. you know the thing that exposes the maxifuse? That thing.

Blazin has a good suggestion. No need to use the factory holes... I if you have several wires you can run through, may as well make a custom hole in the location that will best suit where you want the wires placed. The only problem I see with the running the wires under the car, is a little water leaking through.. I think a good bit of silicone may be necessary.

There are grommets that are designed to run wire from your engine compartment to the passenger compartment. Its a compression fitting that you tighten down around the wire and it keeps water and moisture from coming in. I used one of these on my install in my Trans Sport and was very pleased with the results. It keeps the wire from getting cut and protects my interior as well. A much better alternative to the usual drilling a hole and using a regular rubber grommet or silicone which could let moisture (and that damp smell that comes with it) into your precious ride. OMG.... They get $7 for one of those? I'm search up the industrial version of that... They come in a box of 100 for well under $700..

OK I reeeealy dont want to go under the car, there are more problems associatec with this, than running it through the car.

I know people have gotten the wire through the firewall on the passenger side with out drilling.....who are you??

why dont you want to go through the driver side grommit? thats what i have, it works fine...

generally in amp install kits you only get 17feet of power and you want to stay on the passenger side because thats what side the battery is on
