Default Focal speakers, good buy?

Got a hookup on some Focal Access 130 CA'*. They're Coaxial, but they're focal. I figure i'd run them by themselves in the doors. How does $50 sound for a pair?

Focal Speakers, 130mm. 2-way coaxial, Voice Coil: 25mm, Magnet: 72mm, Tweeter: TN 37 A orientable, Max. power handling: 100W, Nom. power handling .: 50W, Sensitivity: (2,83 V/1m) : 91dB, Frequency response: 65Hz-18KHz, Grilles supplied.

Lowest price i could find online was about $120.

I've never tried focals, but personally, I'd look for a similar speaker that has a better response. 18k sounds a little low, even though you can't really hear anything above that floor. I happened to find some sony'* a while back (I'm a sony guy....hahaha) that were 93 db, 40hz-26k, 50 watts rms, 150 peak (?), and were about 50 with shipping on ebay (new). If you're not an audiophile and aren't really into high fedelity, I'd look for something a little cheaper, or if you are, get something a little nicer. Those sorta sit right in the middle.....

Well comparing sony specs to focal specs..... Not exactly an easy thing. They're considered top of the industy with MB'* and some new JLs. These specs are from a british site.

Yes i'm a huge audiophile, the drivers in my B&W speakers are similar to high end focals.

Sony does not rate the same as MB, Focal, JL etc, those companies rate based on a flat response within a limited range. +/- 3db ad the most.

I say go with the Focals...thats a great price and even if you don't like them you could sell them for at least what you paid for them. It certainly can't hurt to try them out. I too have heard Focal makes great stuff.

Id buy em. Focals are known for being just about as good as u can get in car audio. IM not really sure how good these specific tweets are but if they are focals u know they are good. As far as the frequency response goes, they are actually being honest. There are a lot of companies out there that just lie about their speakers with no shame. I bet if u look in a crutchfield magazine 9 out of 10 car speakers in there dont play the range they claim they do
