Hi, my 1988 SSE has an alarm system which I believe may be a factory system. Was an alarm standard on these cars?

I can't locate any components for it.... Is it possible to disable the alarm system - and if so how? I was looking for a key or something under the hood to switch it off with or a way of disconnecting the alarm but to no avail so far.

Simon..yes you should have a factory alarm.

Disable..hmmm probably need to call on the 87-91 experts for that one. Is it acting up? Maybe we can help you fix it instead of disable. I believe door switches are a common problem on them.
