Default Escalade HU Freeze

I was driving the escalade last night, It hasn’t been started in over as week with the cold weather.

It started fine via remote starter; I jumped into it 15 minutes later everything seems fine. I turn my key, radio starts music is playing, life is good.

I left the house, 2 minutes later I busted a U turn I forgot something at home, parked the car, shut if off. Grabbed what I needed, started it with the key and left.

HU/Navi started just as usual, I drove for like 15 minutes till I noticed there’* no music? I thought I had it on mute; I turn the volume up, no sound. I change to FM, sound is fine

I park on the side of the road, shut the car off, open the door, and start the car again, same problem, I tried changing the disks (in the changer) didn’t work, I can usually hear the CD changing inside, no sound but a fan sound
I try to eject a disk or load one into the empty magazine, message shows up saying ejecting disk, but again, nothing happens

Rear view camera is fine
Navi is fine
Navi disk is fine, ejects and loads no problem (different slot then music slot)
Phone is fine
Radio is fine
Just won’t move or play any of the 5 CDs inside.

Any suggestions…?

cold weather is hard on electronics especially touch screen!

id be willing to bet that if you started up the truck, turned on the heat and in the time it takes for the caddy to get up to running temp the cd player will start working

im betting that the HU is just so damn cold it isnt wanting to work properly..does it sit outside or inside?

it sits outside
i drove it to work today and it wasnt working, before i got out of the car into work i started pushing buttons here and there randomly
for some reason when i held the 2 buttons circled in the picture bellow it beeped three times. i did it three times or so and it didnt work im like screw it and i left it.

suprisingly, about 30 minutes or so ago i started the car and the music is playing.. wtfff

after goole-ing the problem and what not, its seems like its a common problem with them freezing for no apperant reason.
some people had to replace their HU, and some others were lucky and it worked by itself..
i guess its my lucky day..

EDIT: how do i get the attachments to show in the thread? like photobucket and what not
