Ok, does anyone know anything about any electrical problems eith '93-'97 bonnevilles. Ive heard that there was and my other bonneville had the same problems. Ive talked to the dealer as well as the Pontiac help line and have gotten zero information. I figured this would be the next best thing to find out. This could make or break my car syastem.

On my car now Ive gone through 4 alternators and on my other bonneville i had 9 alternators. It just seems like there is some sort of electrical short going on somewhere. Like the car is lacking a voltage regulator or something. Any help would be appreciated
Although I haven't had my Bonnevilles very long (<1 year) I haven't encountered any alternator problems. I had to replace the one in the 90 after I bought it but it'* been fine since. My 93 kept blowing fuses for the fuel pump but this was caused be an excessive amount of water under the carpet from leaks.
our cars suck alot of power...peroid. the 105 alt is not sufficient enough for the bonne. If you have replaced the alts with 105ers then that is your problem I have a huge *** system in the works right now, (2 amps right now and adding another pushing 3000+ watts) and i have a extensive neon collection in the car (over 25 neon tubes inside and out) I would HIghly recommend that you put in a 140+ amp alt. in the car. I am running a 140 amp from AC delco with a lifetime warrenty and i have no problems. Jason (BonneMe) also just installed the 140 amp in his car

I'm working on installing the 140 AMP right now. Say you could also go up to a 200 AMP alt if you really wanted too.
They are talking about amplifiers for car stereo speakers. IF you keep on killing alternators, then maybe you should upgrade the alt like they said or maybe buy a new battery. A battery that cant hold a good charge will constantly drain your alternator

Ryan has had to replace 3 alt. on his car now. If you upgrade to a bigger battery also upgrade the alt because it will not hold up. When my alt went on the '94 Port I upgraded to the AC Delco 140 amp alt and I haven't had a problem with it yet (close to 100K on it).

Ok thanks yall. You guys have been a big help. So anyway i called a couple of auto part shops and all they have for the SE is 105 amp alt. The only 140 amp alt is for the ssei. There is a .5 diameter difference between the two. Does anyone know where i could get a 140 alt amp for the SE or would i just have to somehow retro fit the 140 on to the SE? thanks.
