Default driver door and passenger dash speakers inop.

1999 lesabre.
The door speakers on the dirver side and the passenger dash ones do not operate.
I have not had the top part of the dash apart, but have taken the speaker grill off the door, and it seems to be hooked up. It is also hooked to the stereo, so somewhere between the stereo and the door, there is an open. Is there some connector midway i should look for?
Is it possible to fix this without having the dash apart to trace wires?
I am more worried about the inop door speaker than the one in the dash.
Also - I took out the factory stereo and installed my own.

hrmmm, its possible that the door and the dash speaker share the same wiring from the HU.....the HU could have blown a certain channel...not common but its possible, or there is a place in the wiring that the insulation has rubbed thru and exposing the wire, and shorting the channel
