I went to hook up a FM Modulator for my XM and Ipod So I get everything wired and inplace last thing to pulls out Head Unit.....

Well theres the Kicker GM in there years of mind blowing buberbash BullChit used guess a little bit..........

A VW yeah a VW antenna connector Metra 40VW10 is what I had to order... and thats from Metras book as per year make and model



but thinking about it a little more after Monsoon is big in VW'*

Ford Fucus'* and Mercury Cougars use the same Antenna Adapter as well. Whats the big deal?

Even new Honda'* require an antenna adapter. There antenna'* are powered, which means tapping into a switched line when doing an aftermarket radio.

I can guarantee that the antenna connector is NOT a VW design, but instead a design that VW uses....

and it made sense for GM to use it as well with the dock-and-lock set up

And as I said, Ford uses them in a few vehicles also.

Oh, I just remembered another Ford that uses them- Taurus. The connection at the tuner in the trunk is the VW style adapter.

I'm with Toasty, it isn't necessarily that they designed it, it'* more or less what they just used.
