di i have to remove my trunk?
hi everyone i went to take my system out of the 88sse and put every peice in my 95 bonneville but i ran into a (HUGE) problem with the last part of the install....
my subbox from my 88sse will not fir thru the trunk opening on my 95 se.
it seems to be getting stuck on the trunk hinges....
the box size is 17''x17''x40'' and holds 2 15'' kicker L7'* dual 2 ohm'*.. (yeah im crazy)
now i have the whole system installed but the biox wont fit and i dont want tomake it smaler because i will loose some decibal'* by cutting down the air volume....
any suggestions.....?

If the box won't fit, then it probably won't allow the hinges to close if it were inside the trunk.
If you don't want to make the box a smaller size to fit. Is taking it apart and reassembling inside the trunk an option?
If none of the above works.. push harder.. when something breaks..it'll fit better.

it fits inbetween the hinges perfectly if i was able t oget in in the trunk first, the box length is 40'' and the length between the hinges i believe is 45 or 46''.
so it definetly would fit if i can get it in there.
the box gets caught and stuck inbetween the trunk hinge and the part of the trunk opening by the tail light.(the part of the trunk that curves).
i was honstly thinking if i remove the back seat and cut the metal about 4 inches higer all the way across then i can slide it into the trunk from the back seat and then bolt the seat back on.. in this case a theif who might be lucky enough to have enough time to open my trunk b4 i get there will be baffled on how the hell is he going to get the box out of the trunk.

You would have to cut much more most likely and compromise the structural integrity of the car.
Can you take the box apart and reassemble in the trunk?

do you no how i would be able to do this? i cant seem to picture how to securley screw or nail the box together while in the trunk... it would be very diffucult to be able to screw or nail certain spots on the box like the top of it where the stock 6x9 speakes sit... or the bottom of the box where the trunk floor is.. it sound easy but i have no clue where to start

No...we can't tell you this..
We don't know how your box it put together.
My opinion is if the box is too large.. there'* an issue.
Your suggestion of cutting the car apart to support your audio obsession is uh.. scary.
My last suggestion is pull out your magic wand and try saying Abra Cadabra... see if the box shrinks.

If your willing to cut and possibly damage your car then why dont you just build a new box with the same volume? Or cut it down and use more fill. Theres always ways around stuff like this. I wouldnt wanna butcher my car for the sake of a sub box. Assembling the box in the trunk isnt good because its too difficult to make sure its 100% sealed. You can do it, but your better off just making a new enclosure. My $.02
