Delphi GPS
Does anyone know if I have a external amp in my 05 SE? I would like to install a OEM TOUCH SCREEN IN-DASH NAVIGATION UNIT USED IN HUMMER, ESCALADE, YUKON, TAHOE, GPS. I have looked all over the forums and cant find anyone who tried this with a 05 SE. This whole Bose system and Monsoon system thing has me confused what I have in my car. Thanks in advance, any help would be greatly appriciated.

Have you seen the information posted on this site about the nav units? Your SE won't have the Bose or Monsoon amp as these were only installed in the SSEi or GXP. This doesn't mean you can't pull this off. You will not be able to use the Delphi version because these require external amplification, but if you keep your eyes open on eBay there is an OEM head unit that should fit the bill. Have a look through the following posts, if you haven't already.

Yeah, Like just a average 4 channel amp I guess. I did do some searching around and found a few other options on ebay and Crutchfield. Alpine makes a nice GPS all in one Dash unit thats self mosfet amplified up to 4 channles so does Pioneer and Kenwood. The only thing is I dont want it to look like a hack job, and want it to look as factory as possible, so I am worried about diameters of the aftermarket Navs and how it will fit. Also making sure the buttons/***** are not covered by the dash face pannel and at the same time not seeing any gaps around the nav unit face. I guess its all just trial and error with some customizing as well. I am going to be sending out a bunch of my interior to be refinished in a grey ash wood color. ( Like the Carbon Fiber interior peices in the GXP'*) I guess what I was wondering, what is the Height, width and length of the OEM Delphi faces? I cant afford to buy all three after market nav units to see which fits the best without cutting the dash face pannel or making a custom nav face pannel surround. Thanks again for all your help.
