Default dash lights in stereo don't work

Ok here'* the deal I just swapped out a cd player out of my 94 SSEi for a tape deck out of a 94 Grand Prix. Hooked everything up and the new deck doesn't have any lights.

Jimmyfloyd has this same issue with my 97 radio in his 93. I believe the wiring may be slightly different and you need to move a pin to another location. Please check both manuals to check the wiring

remove it and see if all the pins in the harness line up with the one in the radio.

I know this for sure. My radio worked 110%. Not a think wrong and the minute Geoff installed it in his 93 the lights didn't work.

I believe there is different wiring in 93 than the newer years or didn't part of the illumination etc go through the climate control?

The stereo is in a 94 and it came out of a 95 so there shouldn't have been any problems. I know about the earlier years but this shouldn't be the case with mine.

I believe 95 and 94 were different due to the climate control.

What I am getting at is certain years the lights/dimming when through the climate control on the way to the radio and other years the radio got the signal directly. (I think). This is where I believe the problem is occuring.

93 was the last year of the radio controlling the dimming of the ECC

The radio controlled the ECC and not the other way around. Can you check your book to see if there is any obvious reason these guys aren't getting lights on their 95 and 97 radios.

Thanks
