Default Compass & Subs

OK, ever since I installed my dual 10" Infinities (www.bradgoldring.com/system) into the SSEi, the compass has been requiring calibration daily, and doesn't even calibrate properly at that.

Has anyone else had this issue? Where is the sensor for the compass loacted? Any fixes other than, remove the box, or install magnetic shieldiing on the woofers?

i did the techinfo and it worked great. i did a permanant job and actaully drilled new holes, no duct tape here. the wires are stretched to the limit plus more however. i have to calibrate about 2-3 times a month now

I see this only deals with repositioning it to the centre between the 6x9s, but is there enough wire to get it far enough away from my Infinities that it can still function?

Yea I've got that problem w/ my 91 and my three 10in subs....

I've moved the compass as far away as it can go... but I've still got to recalibrate it 3-4 times a month... real pita....

I'm going to try and more it elsewhere in the car. Right now it'* back behind the antenna.

You might just try splicing some new wires in to extend it to a good location.

Weather or not subs are going to mess with the compass really depends on the magnet size of the speaker. with most 6 by 9s it would be safe to put them about a foot away from the compass, on subs double that to be sure. Also i wouldnt put it in the middle of a magnetic field where it is in the center of a magnetic triangle, such as a setup that has subs a 6by9s. A while back my computer mysteriously stoped working for me, but i later figured out that it would only not work in my living room. It turned out that my home theater setup was messing with it and i didnt even have it close to one of the speakers, it was just because it was in the wrong spot in the middle of it
