That is going to come down to personal opinion. Most of the people here have the Pioneer'*. I prefer the Polk/Momo'*. Infinity is alos a good speaker for the price.

The best speakers are whatever sounds best in your price range. Stock speakers are 5 1/4 components if there'* 2 grilles in the front, or 4x6 plates. The rears are 6x9.

The best would be some boston accoustics or some morels. High end alpine and focals are also nice.

while on the topic of 6x9'*, has anyone listened to a set of them that have great bass?

I have found that the stock 6x9'* have more bass then any of the ones I have listened to in stores. I don't want to blow the stock ones, but I'm sure I will in the future.

Nothing'* better! Whatever better, is what you like the best. Everyone'* ears are different, along with their music tastes! Most any good brand speaker will make you happy, just listen to your music if they have some, and find what works best with your HU.

Bass? They aren't powering them well, and BB displays aren't the best. They're just open in the back to a big room or big walkway. Most of the decks that are powering them aren't even using loudness, bass boost, or an EQ right, if at all. Stockers will make more bass while being powered the same, because they don't need nearly as much to move.

The stock 6x9'* are sensitive but doesn't have much throw.. the other problem is that 6x9'* are running all range, so if you really want more bass.. you'll have to get a sub.. or convert your 6x9'* into subs ( build an enclosure around it, and crossover.. 6x9'* face displacement is roughly about the size of a 8" sub.. but then you'll need to get other speakers mounted either in your rear door to rear deck for the mids and highs.. easiest route for more bass is a sub.. pending on how much boom you're lookin for.. if you just want to round out the sound better @ higher volume, you could just get a bazooka style sub, it'* easy to move that thing around if you need your trunk and or to get to your spare and they're not that spendy )

Get opinions but make sure you do your own research. I personally spent a month testing every different system and AMP combination i could find. I wound up with the Polk DX series all around. Components for the front, 6x9s for the back and 1 x12" sub. you would not believe the bass that i can crank out of that one speaker. the center & front stage is brilliant also. im sure the power you provide has somehting to do with it also.
If i could afford it, i would go with the Polk/MOMO as the are one of the best in the market. (per reviews). Needless to say, i am happy as a clam with the Dx series anyway. i've owned the system for 6 years and never had a problem with any speakers and they sound just as good as the day i bought them.

Good luck, i love shopping for electronics.
