Actualy I've seen them at Wally world for 00+ bonnevilles, that and if need be I can get one cheaper then a $100 for him if needed through a friend at a car audio place

that one at wal-mart STILL REQUIRES ADDITIONAL WIRING

oohh ic, didn't know that haven't had to use one.....but like i said if need be I can get him one for under 100 from my audio guy...

to turn the demo mode off depends on the specific model, older basic models will probably require pushing and holding the SEL button while the ignition is on, and the radio off. More advance older units will usually have a menu button (sometimes only found on the wireless remote). Newer units with a rotary volume ****, push and hold the control in to enter menu. Again knowing the model number and referencing the manual will give you exact steps. But to answer your original question, unless you have both the Sony'* red and yellow power wires to a constant (battery) wire, then you will not be draining your battery.

for now i just take the faceplate off and it doesnt brag about features until then ill do some re wiring/ try to figure out how to turn demo mode off thanks for all the help guys

Come to think of it, those directions were taped to the face of my HU when I bought it. Apparently customer service was receiving a lot of calls.

bought the head unit off ebay....lol those directions didnt come with it then im just gonna leave it for right now and when i find some time ill try re wiring it but for now i just take the faceplace off and it works fine
