Well lets clarify first. The Sony radio probably has a demonstration mode. If you power off the radio with the car still on, you'd see it bragging about itself and its features. Check your manual and it will tell you how to turn it off. Now if you have the key out of the ignition, door open (depending on what circuit you may have tapped into) and the radio still stays on then you have the red ACC wire hooked up incorrectly.

it sounds like you wired it wrong, yellow should be 12v constant and red should be SWITCHED 12v

if you don't have a menu/setup button usually if you press and hold the clock button it should shut it off, or look at the buttons close and see if any say demo on it. Would help if you had the deck model number....

as far as the wiring why not goto walmart or some place like it and get a 10 or less dollar wire harness adapter so you don't have to run wires to you'r fuse box or cut any of them to hook up your deck

DB.. the setup in the 2000 and newer cars is nothing like the pre 2000 cars. Currently the connector is about $100 for the 2000 and up vechicles.
