my sony cd player is turned off but is still it up and doing things and im not sure whether its drawing power from the battery and will run it down or not, i ran the red 12 v wire to the fuse box or w/e it is under the backseat ne one know if itll run the battery down?
Well lets clarify first. The Sony radio probably has a demonstration mode. If you power off the radio with the car still on, you'd see it bragging about itself and its features. Check your manual and it will tell you how to turn it off. Now if you have the key out of the ignition, door open (depending on what circuit you may have tapped into) and the radio still stays on then you have the red ACC wire hooked up incorrectly.

thats basicaly what it does is brag about its features when its off, but if there isnt a way to turn that off then should i wire the yellow to the battery and red to yellow on the wire harnes?
if you don't have a menu/setup button usually if you press and hold the clock button it should shut it off, or look at the buttons close and see if any say demo on it. Would help if you had the deck model number....
as far as the wiring why not goto walmart or some place like it and get a 10 or less dollar wire harness adapter so you don't have to run wires to you'r fuse box or cut any of them to hook up your deck
