so can you blow up a speaker by having a 4 ohm speaker on a 2 or 1 ohm amp?

makes sense

do you still fry them running 4 ohm amp and 2 ohm speaker?

also my amp says 600 rms @ 4 ohm or 1200 rms @ 2 ohm
how is that possible?
i mean how do i know if im running 600 config or 1200

Anytime you have a mismatch, something is working harder than it should. You'll fry something eventually. With that small of a difference, it take awhile.

The amp should have to be set to a certain ohm-age some way. That'* how you would know.

So is it true that in a gxp with the HUD you will lose that feature if u change it out with an aftermarket head unit? Also is there anything else you could lose?

you only lose the radio info off the HUD
i have an aftermarket installed, everything remains the same (if you use the right harness) only thing missing is the Track and Radio info on the HUD, which i personally dont care much for

Yep, you keep the HUD. Don't even have to use a harness to keep it, at least in my car I didn't.

Hummmmmm.... Thanks guys!!! I like the factory look, but i also would like a better decent sound!!! I have my 2 12" MTX woofers in my intrepid, so i don't want any in the bonneville, but i would like it to sound much better than it does. My dads 2006 Crew cab chevy radio system sounds tons better than my GXP.........
