You don't have to hack up the dash. Mine is nice and clean.

Inside the dash after we pulled the old one.

New Kenwood HU.

Now, whoever owned the car before me ran all new wires through the car before we did this. That'* the only part that messed with us a bit since we didn't have a wiring harness available.

No, because I didn't but the adapter. They would though if I were to buy it since that HU has a remote.

Going aftermarket is always better than sticking with the factory junk
I had factory Monsoon, and removing the factory HU was the best thing I ever did, the CD changer is so useless, I hated it
Anyways, back on topic
PAC make an interface for our cars to hook up an ipod or aux input to the factory HU, and they are not that expensive.. Something you might wanna look into if you don't mind the factory sound system

But IMO aftermarket stuff are great!

PAC is a company who makes after market audio gear. They are the company who makes the wheel controls adapter.

Yeah I was looking at that as an option if I wasn't able to install an aftermarket HU on my GXP

Having ipod control on the factory HU is pretty cool!

I never had factory sound in my car. The jack wagon who had it before me put in a DVD player and ran new wires. Then they blew the rear 6x9s so I had to go get new speakers put in. Grrrr.
