From my understanding pre-built boxes aren't the way to. I've always heard buy the subs you want, then build the box for them.

I assume however, you don't have the resources to build a box for what you want?

I've seen a box that looked just like this come through the shop I used to work at and it sounded terrible, which is why they were trying to trade it in. I suppose if you are going to get a box like this, you would want to get subs that are designed to be in a box of this dimension and mounted in reverse.

even if you get a box like that, and its tuned correctly it amplifies the low very low frequencies. i had a box like this before, it really only sounds good with rap music. if you listen to country or rock where you want a fuller range, you are going to want to get sealed box any way. this last time i made custom sealed boxes for spec'ed for the woofers and its the best ive had for those types of music. there not hard to build im sure you could find a local fabricator to cut and router the pieces, then you could put it together the right way.

It'* pretty, but bandpass is not the best for sound quality. It will sound boomy. I love custom ported boxes, but if you want a pre-fab box then a sealed box is a pretty decent option.

I have a 170 dollar ported box right now so I'm just going to keep it but I do want a plexi glass one in the future.
