It depends on what you are looking for SQL, or SPL. If you are looking for SQL, I would suggest Eclipse, or Diamond Audio. SPL, JL Audio. I'm getting Alpine Type-R'* because a couple of my friends have them and they sound good for both types of listening.

SQL means "sound quality level." There are 2 different classes when it comes to car audio, spl and sql.

SPL is "sound pressure level" and that is a system that gets really loud
SQ is "sound quality" and focuses on sound quality, not necessarily how loud it gets
SQL is a mix between the two. It has good sound quality, and gets fairily loud.

I am partial to Kicker'* myself but thats just me. Uhmm if your looking for loud go with something like a JL W7 one or two of those will make you cream. My friend has 4 of them in a 91 5.0 mustang and you can barley breathe in there it hits so hard.

Default Best 2 ohm sub

If you want performance go with any of the audiobahn awt subs. I have a 10" awt linear compression running at 1500 watts and it is really f-ing loud. it can be 2 12" solo barics. The secret to them is the compression. It compresses air and never bottoms out.
