Default 4 Ohm Speakers vs. 2 Ohm

Do you give up anything in swapping out the 2 Ohm BOSE 6x9'* with 4 Ohm aftermarkets? Does the Ohm difference really matter?

Where did you find 2 Ohm Bose speakers at. The ones in my Bonneville are 10 Ohm. But yes changing the ohm of the speaker will change it.

I thought all the Bose speakers were 2 ohm. Sorry if I'm wrong.

A 4 ohm speaker will be quieter. Unless the amp is rated to run at 2 ohms or 4 ohms. Then it will be the same.

most likely the stock speakers are 10 or 8 ohm.

if you switch to a set of 4 ohm speakers ....they SHOULD sound better off the same deck. a stock deck should run 4 ohms no problem. i don't think they would run 2 ohms for too long.....it'd generate too much heat for sure.

The front speakers in a premium bonneville system runs at 2 ohms. Ive been using an aftermarket clarion deck for a year no problem. But i will change the speakers out soon.
