Default Bass Turns Down?

I have 01 Bonneville SSEi with the stock stereo system, and I may be crazy but, doses the bass turn down when I turn the volume up? And if so is there any way to stop that? I realy dont want to buy a new deck, but an new amp or speakers or not out of the question.

The stock system is set to reduce the bass as the volume gets higher so you don't blow out your speakers. There may be a way around it but I'm not sure myself. Your best bet is to ditch stock though if you want bass.
