has anyone every pulled off the dash to see how far back the antenna wire goes? Mine is damaged and I need to replace it, but does that stop somewhere or is the same wire that hooks to the head unit go straight to the trunk?

yes......

there is a piece in the dash that goes from the HU and then connects to the length of wire that runs down the car

you would have to pull the dash and then get the section that runs from the HU to the connector

My suggestion would be to rerun it w/o pulling dash. It'* simply not worth it.

Im not sure that is possible....the connector is up by the windshield for the antenna...that would be very interesting to re run it......but you still need the connector for the rest of the antenna that runs down the car

Rerunning it likely implies leaving the original coax alone, and running a new piece from the head unit to the antenna....which would definately be a whole lot easier and resulting in the same outcome.

ok you still have to connect the Coax to the Coax that runs down the car....and that is near the right hand side of the front windshield UNDER the dash....

I'm confused by the comment, why would you bother working with the junction in the dash if its so hard to deal with? Similar to running a RCA cable in an amplifier install...run the new coax the entire length of the car and connect at the antenna... even if you have to cut and solder the connection in the trunk, you're still far better off.
