damn that port does look small , well atleast for the 2 woofers. what kind of budget are you working with and is building your own possible if i were to help design one for ya? i have a couple dif enclosure calculators and is no prob on my part. self made boxes are usually stronger, and way better sounding since it can be built for that particular sub. just an option otherwise i found this box, a lil more cash but IMO worth it compared to the one ya were thinking about. yes i am very capable of building one, but my problem was i didnt know how to design one. If you could help me out that would be awesome, ive been tryin for a long time tryin to figure out a box for these i want it to be the perfect cubic so they sound their best.

Size doesnt matter it just needs to fit in the bonnys trunk, just big enough to be the right cubic feet. Heres is the owners manual for the type R with some specifications http://support.alpine-usa.com/produc..._SWR-1222D.PDF.

L X W X H divided by 1728. that will give you the right box size in cubic feet. the port is different. does it have to be slot loaded? can it be a round port? A sealed box will sound the best, but for bass output a port will put out 3db more, and a bandpass will put out 9db more.

Will a ported box hit more frequencies than a sealed box? The problem that i have with the sealed box right now is that it has flat spots where it doesnt pick up certain notes. Now the box isnt the right cubic feet, i dont know if its too big or too small, but the one type r that ive gotten so far sounds decent in it.

a sealed box is more accurate than a ported but a ported will play about 2-3db louder off the same power. if the box ya have the sub in now is too small it will miss some lows and if too big it will get low but not anything higher. a sealed box will play flat compared to a sealed so box type and music type will make the dif in what to choose. i pretty much rap/hiphop only so im stuck with ported lol ok not stuck but love the way they sound. ported can get pretty mean lol

Thats all i listen to too, im just worried that if i get a ported box and the ports wrong itl sound horrible.

nah its not too bad. im guessing your just wanting it for daily and not straight comps so its not too bad. if you want to mess around you can try this on your own RE Enclosure Calculator its pretty good just change the red letters to the dimensions ya want. make sure the box is about 3.4- or so cuft and dont make the port too narrow or it might make port noise.i messed around with it and figured mabe something like 36 widex 15 high x 17 deep but nt sure how that would fit and the port would be somthing like 4" wide and 22" deep iirc.
