Hi folks.

I have a 95 SSEi with the dreaded CD changer click problem, and was thinking about upgrading to an Alpine unit. I think I found a pretty nice receiver/cassette and CD changer combo from alpine. The receiver is a TDM-7582 and the changer is CHM-S630, both from Alpine. It allows playing cassettes and 6 CD'* with the CD controls right on the front panel. Has anyone used this combo, and is there anything else I would need to make it work with my steering wheel controls?

not for sure what you need for the steering wheel controls but i know it can be done

HOWEVER, this will not work for you, because it uses an infared beam to shoot the signal to the deck. From what im seeing, the alpine you picked does not have a remote, so therefore there is no infared sensor, so there is nothing to send the signal to, sorry!

look at that installation difficulty rating.

i heard its not really hard, just time consuming...

once you get all the wires hooked up, you just press a button on the pac swi x, then hit a button on the remote, then hit the corresponding button the steering wheel...

sounds like a piece of cake right?

Thanks for the replies guys. I haven't bought anything yet, just researching. So anyone have a better option? I like the idea of having both cassette and CD because I have alot of old cassettes to play. I just heard the Alpine is one of the better quality decks out there.

i'm with you there but i just went with a Sony CDX-F7000 CD Player

both would work...crutchfield has 8 models that would work for you..just make sure you look for it to play cassettes, have cd changer controls, and WIRELESS REMOTE
