Default best clarity in subs + speakers

always gotta have the best.

my friend joe has a 4 speaker mustang. just got 2 JL audio subs for the back and an amp. it sounds amazing and hurts our stomachs when it plays.

im leanin towards the JL audio but alpine has always been my #1 selection. the JL subs produce 750 with 1500 peak. the alpine produce 1000rms with 3000 peak. so im goin back and forth witha lpine for the subs.

as for speakers, i have no clue??

and amps as well, im thinking of getting a digital theater amplifier from alpine. hopefully ill only need 1 if i get a full 2 12" sub system with speeks as well

My subs hurt my chest and shakes my inside.... but all in all test out each kind you want then decide... I still have stock speakers in the car and I love them, as for subs they are custom built speakers by my brother...

how do you plan to power a home theater amp which is likely powered by 120vAC in a 12VDC car?

you need a budget before anyone can suggest anything.

It'* really not a matter of the "best" you can buy. What I think sounds good, you may think sounds like crap and vice versa. That being said, you need to go around and listen to different subs and find ones that YOU like. My BravoX were half the cost of JL'*, and I personally like the sound much better. Don't buy a name, buy quality and sound.

Image Dynamics, Elemental Designs, Bravox, etc..

RE, TC, Fi, SS, just to name a few more.

you realize the best money can buy for SQ and/or loudness and you would be in the price range of well over 10g

sound quality
loud
cheap
you can only have 2

those alpine type-Rs take some serious power and SLAM with ~1000RMS, but they dont sound that great. that is why they are so cheap.

Mike - you dont need the BEST... there is no reason to have the best, as noone but a competition judge will hear the difference between a $500 set of front speakers and a $1000 set of front speakers.. but if you insist on getting what i think is the best.....

Headunit:

front and rear speakers: (you will need 2 sets of speakers, and one of these amps

powered with:

But all of that is useless without a good install, so plan to set another $1500-2000 or so to have all your doors, and trunk sound deadened, a box custom built, all new wiring through the car, a 2nd battery and a high output alternator. So budget about $10,000 for just the hard parts, plus all the other things i listed... grand total of about 10-12,000

honestly, you can build a VERY good sounding and loud system for under $2000 TOTAL, if you know what to buy and get over the "brand" thing... remember, just because its a well known brand doesnt mean its the best. and just becasue you dont know the name doesnt mean its not as good as JL or Alpine which are both VERY overrated companies in my opinion

aaron, that all looks great so thanks for the work.

however i was lookin more along the line of how http://www.cardomain.com/ride/395342/2 has his system. looks like hes got 2 w7 subs, a 1000x1watt amp and a 450. i dunno what hes got for speakers but right now im lookin at either alpine or jl audio.

i dunno the difference in those companies u showed me.. like brax or morel.. but im wondering as to why they are so expensive??

edit: obviously... if i had different intentions, i could spend $100,000 on 2 30" subs and like 4 home theater amps.. yeah i want the best quality and loud music, but i dont want something thats so noticeably heavy i lose my torquesteer. just 2 12" subs that are amazing, like the w7s, an amp or 2, whatevers needed, and some nasty speakers

i want the best for what im lookin at. performance AND luxury.

in his bonneville he has MB Quart speakers... no clue as to what model though.

IMO Alpine speakers are mediocre and JL is overrated and overpriced.

There are MUCH better options out there, both price and quality.

Look at brands like CDT, Boston, Focal (in-store pricing is robbery), Rainbow for what i consider the BEST speakers, an amazing set from any of those companies can be had for about $4-600 online.

As for subs - i would likey go with FI 12" Qs or RE Audio... the RE XXX is way overkill for anyone who doesnt compete IMO. I would say a single RE SX12, or 2 RE SE12s would be more than enough for the average listener.

Match this all up with Hifonics (best bang for the buck) amps

Now, spending a ton of money on speakers is useless without deadening the doors... same as the trunk (this all still holds true from my last post) You will also still likely need to invest about 500 in installation alone after you buy all the wiring and labor. Also, you would likely need a high output alternator to support a solid 1500w system

I'd have to recommend the A series from ED. It is basically a 13w7 but way cheaper and the SQ is outstanding. It is a SQ speaker that is designed to get loud in small boxes..if thats what your going for:

I have the previous generation, they are a killer deal.

I'd look into CDT or Focal for components. They sound nice...the high end CDTs at least.

For amps I'd go Alpine, JL, or any other higher end brand. Avoid cheap amps.
